RAIN RAGAS

During the California drought of 1976-77, cultural ambassador Harriet Shaw invited master vocalist Dr. Sunil K. Bose to perform ancient Indian ragas that traditionally performed during the rainy season. Though no precipitation was forecast, shortly after our concert, it rained!
Coincidence? Who knows. What is clear is that this recording marked one of the earliest recordings of world fusion music. Dr. Bose had never heard 'the blues' before, but his improvisation still gives me chills. I play electric piano, and overdubbed the hot guitar and bass. Enjoy!
